Tierra quemada

Tierra quemada

hacia un mundo poscapitalista

Crary, Jonathan

In the coming decades we will face a post-capitalist world: a society immersed in uninterrupted technological consumption; a scorched earth, full of plastic and pesticides; a nature devastated by the plundering of natural resources. In this stubborn and devastating essay, Jonathan Crary denounces the manipulation to which we are subjected by what he calls the "internet complex", whose presence in all spheres of life makes any idea that considers its marginalization or absence unthinkable . But, as Crary argues, the techno-consumerist culture and economy are inherently incompatible with a habitable earth and the interdependence necessary to live in a more humane and less alienating way. It is a work that rises up against social atomization, characteristic of digital networks and platforms, and claims the importance of organizing ourselves collectively.
