¿Tiene futuro la verdad?

For the first time in the history of man, we face a new and total challenge to the ideal of the pursuit of pure and abstract truth. For the first time, we can conceive of a fundamental incongruity, a crucial mismatch, between the search for truth and the equally demanding ideals of social justice or, even more centrally, between truth and survival. What is at stake in the obsessive race for discovery is no longer Thales' broken leg or Archimedes' deadly carelessness. It could be, perhaps already is, the continued existence of the individual and society as we know them.
