Tiempos de incertidumbres y de rupturas
del neoliberalismo a la pandemia : salto a lo desconocido
Rodríguez Ortiz, Francisco
The neoliberal and financial imprint of capitalism produce recurring crises. The perception by the population of a degraded future drives national-populist movements. They appeal to simplistic recipes for problems. "The plague" of authoritarianism invoked by Camus strikes again. Globalization and European integration cut a priori the autonomy of the nation state. Contrary to sovereign reductionism, which confuses sovereignty with independence, the weaknesses of the European construct do not lie in the transfer of competences to the community level, but in the fact that an economic government of the Union does not emerge. The Europe of the euro must constitutionalize an economic government and be more inclusive. This atypical crisis radically alters the prevailing economic paradigms. Austerity policies being ruled out, public indebtedness is taken, thanks to the support provided by the ECB, to unknown levels in times of peace. This book is an essay focused on the shortcomings and weaknesses of European governance and the economic and social consequences that derive from the pandemic, and opts with great rigor for a multidisciplinary approach. It is aimed, in the first place, at students of Economics, Economic Law, International Relations and Political Sciences, whether undergraduate or graduate. Likewise, it is aimed more generally at those citizens who, not having a crystal ball, express their interest in understanding and participating in an exchange of ideas away from clichés and dogmas about the future of our societies and complex mutations. to which they are subjected.
