The social transformations of May 1968 and of Latin America between the 20th and 21st centuries, the prodigious decades in Silicon Valley in which a new world was born, the irruption of the gay and lesbian movement in San Francisco, perestroika, the South African crossroads... innovation in China, how it is governed in the midst of a pandemic... Since his exile in France and, later, his expulsion from that country for his activism in the May 68 movement, Manuel Castells was fully involved in all these crucial moments and places that have changed our world in the last half century.
