Theorem is the inexorable description of the behavior and conflicts of a bourgeois family in a moment of crisis and, at the same time, a parable about the irruption of religion in the family order and its devastating consequences, which are unleashed from the visit of an enigmatic young man. This will establish an irresistible sexual and intellectual connection with all the components of the family, through which each of them will become aware of his most intimate nature. Provocative and prophetic like its author, Teorema marks a turning point in Pasolini's work and configures that strongly sacred and symbolic vision of reality that the Italian intellectual developed in the last stage of his life.
