Tanques, un siglo de historia
¿sigue siendo decisivo el carro de combate en la guerra moderna o está lanzando su canto del cisne en Ucrania?
Peñas Artero, José Antonio
The tank, also called a tank, was a solution to the problem of being able to continue advancing while under enemy fire. The idea of using some type of mobile construction for protection is also an old idea. The Greeks built large siege towers called Helepolis. The Assyrians had movable barriers for their archers. The Roman Empire had wheeled armored towers armed with catapults. The Poles and Czechs built metal-armored war wagons in the Middle Ages. Leonardo da Vinci designed man-powered wheeled attack vehicles. Most of these ancient ideas focused on the siege, where the more common tactics of maneuver and formation had less impact. The technological advances of the Industrial Revolution threatened to turn all wars into a siege of great proportions; This would be known as trench warfare.
