That an external organism (an alien virus, a mutated fungus or a strange being) controls the body and will of human beings, living or dead, is one of the most recurring themes in science fiction. A parasite with the ability to annihilate our bodily control or alter our actions terrifies us. Luckily, this only happens in fiction: Alien, The last of us or The strain are only cinematic products, it doesn't seem possible in reality. Or maybe yes? In fact it is: true parasites manipulate the behavior of many species of animals such as ants, birds, fish, cats, hyenas... and also humans.
