Sobre la naturaleza de los dioses

Sobre la naturaleza de los dioses

Cicerón, Marco Tulio

Cicero (106-43 BC) is undoubtedly one of the most prominent figures in classical Latin letters. In addition to his work as a politician, speaker, and lawyer, he developed exceptional scholarship. He was the author of an extensive work, with representation of different themes and genres (legal and political speeches, treatises on rhetoric or philosophy, letters), and with it he established the linguistic model that we know today as "classical Latin". On the Nature of the Gods, a work that, together with On Divination and On Destiny, makes up the Ciceronian theological triad, offers us a complete synthesis of the main ideas of Hellenistic philosophy around the problem of divinity. In addition, the work confronts these ideas with the Roman modes and schemes of thought, and includes very valuable information to know the Roman religion of his time.
