Sobre el azar del mapa
Valverde, Álvaro
Life as a journey is a motif that runs through all of Valverde's work since his first book, Territory. This new installment consisting of two travel notebooks takes its title from an Alexandrian of that inaugural work: "Cuaderno de Sofía" and "Cuaderno suizo". The first notebook is the result of an accidental trip that deeply impressed the author, and the verses from it appear almost as impromptus. In the second notebook, dedicated to Switzerland, he collects, as a tribute, some texts inspired by poets who lived or were related to that literary and cosmopolitan city that is Geneva. Thus, the Argentine Jorge Luis Borges (who died and is buried there) and the Spaniards María Zambrano (thinker of poetic reason), José Ángel Valente, Alfonso Costafreda, Pere Gimferrer and Aquilino Duque; all come together in those verses that celebrate the lyric and the discovery of the trip at the same time.
