Sobre Camarón

la leyenda del cantaor solitario

Lencero, Carlos

In Sobre Camarón Carlos Lencero approaches the figure of the brilliant flamenco singer from a very personal perspective, trying to understand the soul of the artist. His particular journey into Camarón's life stops at the recording days of La Leyenda del Tiempo, an album whose musical importance was not understood by the singer's followers at first. However, time has turned the work into Camarón's most emblematic recording and the one that opens, in many ways, the start of 20th-century flamenco. The atmosphere of the booths of the Seville Fair in the years of Camarón's youth, the working conditions of the tablaos of that time, the wild nights in his time in Madrid and the tour of Andalusia in 1979, give an account of the backroom in the that what the author has called The Legend of the Solitary Singer was being forged.
