Smiley

Smiley

Clua, Guillem

A Japanese legend says that when two people are destined to be together, an invisible red thread tied to the little finger of the left hand unites them from the day of their birth. This thread cannot be broken, and can tie them together forever, even if they are very far from each other and even though they may be very different. This seems to be the case with Alex and Bruno, the protagonists of the romantic comedy that has thrilled thousands of viewers around the world. Surely they would never fixate on each other, but a misunderstanding will make what has started as any date end up changing their lives forever. Smiley is a love story in capital letters. It makes you laugh and excite. It shows the fears we face when we fall in love and the contradictions of emotional relationships within the gay community, marked by the influence of new technologies and online dating applications. And, at the same time, it is a small wikipedia of the Barcelona atmosphere and a tribute to the lifelong romantic comedies, from Nora Ephron to Howard Hawks. Smiley is all that and more, but above all, it is a song to love in all its forms.
