Siempre somos demasiado buenos con las mujeres
Queneau, Raymond
First published in 1947, and then attributed, as if it were to a real person, to the fictional Irish writer Sally Mara, We Are Always Too Kind to Women was republished in 1971 as a "Sally Mara novel" by Raymond Queneau. , but "translated" by Michel Presle. This set of fake Chinese boxes alone gives an idea of the very peculiar texture of the book. We Are Always Too Good to Women takes place in the Irish insurrection of 1916 to build a creation that is both funny and grotesque and ultimately constitutes a moral apologist against violence, wrapped in a screeching, apocalyptic and surprising verbal machinery. Seven armed Irishmen assault a post office and, while resisting the siege of the English army, one by one they fall into the seductive traps of a young woman who hid in the service during the assault.
