A teenage trip to Ireland is the haunting memory that occupies Evian Cardona as he strolls through the city of Oxford. An Oxford for mythomaniacs that preserves the traces of Robert Graves, Javier Marías, Lewis Carroll, Francesc Eiximenis, Lawrence of Arabia and J.R.R. Tolkien. Memories of Evian in Ireland are mixed with two trips to Oxford following the trail of an Agres man who may have inspired Tolkien and an elusive unicorn: the enigmatic Margot, a young woman he fell in love with in Ireland and of which he had not heard anything again. Evian goes in search of Margot knowing that the unicorn is a mythological creature that we think we have seen and that we may not find again, but we should never stop looking.
