Sevillana
Lagares, Charo
Sevillana is the story of Alejandra Díez de la Cortina, a young interior architect who is about to marry Gonzalo, her longtime boyfriend. Both are from Seville but live in Madrid for work reasons. What has happened to Alejandra has happened to many young women in her environment: when the relationship is consolidated, boredom threatens between hunting hunts, horseback riding and endless golf games. It is then, during one of those social events, that a friend of Gonzalo's begins to get dangerously close to her. This is also the story of her grandmother, who has just become a widow and feels very lonely, although she is happy at the idea of her granddaughter's wedding. And finally, the story of her mother, that she has a secret obsession and that she is more irascible than ever: that life of appearances, parties and prejudices no longer fills him. What really unites these three generations of women? Why are her mother's fears so important to the decisions that Alejandra will have to make? Charo Lagares dazzles with an exciting and fun first novel about the ties of a conservative upper-class family in Seville.
