If we talk about the West and Europe, very different voices warn of the exhaustion of an aimless, disoriented civilization that has renounced any idea of a shared identity and a stable community in favor of fragmentation and the crudest consumerism. Conservative principles are the new punk because ideas that a few decades ago seemed perfectly accepted -such as the importance of the family for protection and roots; the legitimate preservation of local identities; the value of the sense of transcendence, beauty or cultivation of the spirit- are marginalized today, when they are not directly attacked by a new inquisitive spirit. Being conservative is above all an instinct, and a group of young essayists grouped around Revista Centinela recover it here with intellectual referents, reflections and proposals not only to resist, but to try to build an alternative.
