Seis semanas con los filósofos griegos
Gaspari, Ilaria
How would we see our life with the eyes of the Greek philosophers? Would we have less worries? What if one day we decided to get to know the world and those who inhabit it just as the ancient sages did? What if we followed the teachings of teachers like Pythagoras, Socrates, or Epicurus? After breaking up with her partner and being forced to move, Ilaria Gaspari undertook an unusual journey of self-improvement over six weeks during which she lived focused on adopting the precepts of the main currents of thought of Ancient Greece. From the Pythagorean school one can learn to overcome laziness by means of very precise rules - which sometimes seem incomprehensible; from the Eleatic philosophers, to relate to time in a more relaxed way; from skepticism, distrusting our feelings and questioning everything; from stoicism, to accept that some things cannot be changed; of the Epicureans, to be generous with ourselves... Following mandates formulated more than two thousand years ago is not a simple mission, but it can lead to a fascinating search for happiness.
