Sangre de amor correspondido
Puig, Manuel
Manuel Puig was inspired by the real life of a bricklayer he met in Rio de Janeiro, from whose story he wrote this novel. According to the writer himself, "he had loved a woman, but he had to leave town and she went crazy." The novel narrates the violent relationship of a couple of young Brazilians, a story of misery -moral and material-, of unleashed sex, of machismo, of wild nature, which in many moments impresses the reader by its ferocity, and that Puig, in another display of creative freedom and love of popular culture, constantly riddled with references to songs by Roberto Carlos.
