Salvem els mots
Badia i Pujol, Jordi
Do you go to a dentist when you have a "crooked tooth" or a "caries"? To attend a celebration, do you "get it right", do you go "get changed" or "empolainated"? Do you find German to be a "convoluted" or "complicated" language? Language gives us synonymous expressions to talk about our environment or the actions we take every day, but we abuse some of these words and inadvertently cause others to fall into disuse. And when a word or phrase loses momentum, they have many numbers to go out of. The linguist Jordi Badia, with this book, wants to vindicate all those words and expressions that are currently on the loose because they have been cornered by the pressure of Spanish, or because synonymous forms, often not so precise, have ended up occupying the l 'genuine space.
