At the age of sixty-seven, Trond decides to leave the city of Oslo and go to live in a cabin in a forest in the easternmost region of Norway with the only company of his dog. Solitude and close contact with nature will take you back to a day in your adolescence, when your friend Jon suddenly appeared at your house: "We were going to steal horses. That's what he told me, standing at the door of the cabin in the one I spent that summer with my father. I was fifteen. It was in 1948, early July. The Germans had left the country three years before, but I don't remember us talking about them anymore." From that episode, Trond will remember the months in which he discovered the world of adults and his life changed forever.
