There is little left until they finish building the highway that will divide this neighborhood full of ruined buildings. And right now you are there, in the fifth house from the left, fighting to survive. You are I. Ramey. The victim of a deadly bet between two manufactured gods: the fascinating Roxy (OxyContin), who is in top form, and the triumphant Addison (Adderall), who craves adrenaline. The bet, the challenge of who takes their brand to "the Party" first, is a race to the abyss. And in the end you can't help it: you are dazzled by what oxycodone and amphetamines promise. Rameys in this story: Isaac, a soccer player thrust into Roxy's orbit by a bad fall and bad medical advice, and her sister Ivy, whose growing frustration with her ADHD leads her to resume her relationship with Addison.
