Roca pelada
Varela, Eduardo Fernando
In a desert plateau at more than five thousand meters of altitude, a border crossing between two countries sits. A faint line of stones painted with lime separates the margins. On one side is the Border Guard, a post commanded by Lieutenant Costa, and on the other, Ronda de Confines, with Lieutenant Gaitán as chief. Loneliness devours Costa, very jealous of his mission, but hopelessly isolated from his men, and he has Gaitán as his intimate enemy. In appearance, they are two soldiers each serving their country, but in reality they are abandoned on both sides of the border, in a place governed by forces very different from the ones they claim to dominate. Troops trade with each other, smuggling what little they own. When Gaitán leaves, eager to leave the altiplano, he will be replaced by Captain Vera Brower, an attractive woman whose red hair will turn the routine of the step upside down.
