Robert Altman

Called to be a reference book for its lucid and exhaustive analysis of the work of a filmmaker with a fruitful career, Robert Altman. On the other side of Hollywood, he investigates the detail of each of his feature films for the big screen, in addition to glossing some of his most relevant contributions in television, such as the series Tanner '88, a precursor to the notion of mockumentary (or false documentary film). Winner of an honorary Oscar and a Golden Globe, Altman revolutionized the cinematographic space from the end of the 60s through decidedly transgressive proposals both stylistically and thematically. The validity of his work is confirmed by the enormous influence that he continues to exert on current filmmakers as celebrated as Quentin Tarantino, Paul Thomas Anderson, Alejandro González Iñárritu or Paul Haggis, among many others.
