Mendoza, Eduardo

A young English expert in Velázquez arrives in Madrid to authenticate an alleged painting by the Spanish painter in the months before the outbreak of the civil war. The painting belongs to a friend of José Antonio Primo de Rivera and its economic value can determine the development of political events. Despite being unaware of the critical situation in the country, or perhaps because of this, Anthony Whitelands establishes a relationship with key characters of the moment, witnesses crucial events and manages to emerge from dangerous situations successfully.
