Premi Nèstor Luján de Novel·la Històrica 2023
Casas, Sònia
Antoni Gaudí and Eduard Toda are two teenage friends who like to visit abandoned historical places. During one of these adventures they discover a mysterious prehistoric engraving in the mountains near the castle of Escornalbou, a discovery that will forever mark their lives. One hundred and fifty years later, a marriage in crisis formed by Laia, an archaeologist who feels undervalued, and Arnau, a geologist trapped by the political and economic interests of a thorny project that threatens the natural environment of Escornalbou, they start an investigation against the clock that will lead them to discover that not only is the engraving an unusual Neolithic astronomical sanctuary but also that both Toda and Gaudí knew it. Inspired by real research, the novel immerses us in the exciting biographies of Eduard Toda, the State's first Egyptologist, and the architect Antoni Gaudí, and shows us, in a fast-paced story, the fascinating connections of the Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Park Güell with a very specific place in the Baix Camp identified as the possible place of inspiration for the brilliant architect.
