Reinhard Mohn

un siglo emprendiendo

Scholtyseck, Joachim

Reinhard Mohn (1921-2009) is considered one of the most important European media entrepreneurs of the 20th century. After World War II, he took over the Bertelsmann publishing group and in the following decades set the course for the company to become an international media group. From the founding of the Bertelsmann Readers' Circle in 1950 and its international expansion, to the purchase of RTL or the American group Random House, his career has been marked by a very successful business culture based on social collaboration. Beyond its financial success, Bertelsmann has an extraordinary reputation as one of the most attractive and inclusive employers in the world. In 1977 the Bertelsmann Foundation was created, dedicated to promoting civil societies and democratic values ??and which is currently one of the most important European foundations. In this richly illustrated biography, historian Joachim Scholtyseck shows the visionary Reinhard Mohn in a new light in the context of 20th-century European cultural, media, and corporate history.
