In 1999, when he was already seventy-seven years old, Juan Antonio Bardem set out to shoot a new film: Return to Calle Mayor. And this project was not a simple second part of the mythical film, nor a continuation to use: Bardem went much further in his approach. So that the reader can see -and enjoy- a film that will no longer be shot, we publish in this volume the essential documents of the project accompanied by a very complete introductory study by Bernardo Sánchez.
