Rahaf Mohammed bet on freedom and got it. On January 5, 2019, after three years of planning, she managed to flee from her family and leave Saudi Arabia behind to start a new life far from the abuse and mistreatment to which she was subjected because of her status as a woman and lesbian. In her memoir, she offers an intimate and unpublished look at the terrible reality of life as a woman in one of the most conservative and misogynistic countries in the world, where girls are raised in a repressive system that subjects them to the legal control of male tutors.
