Ramona, adiós

Ramona, goodbye (1972) is the first novel by the pioneering feminist and journalist Montserrat Roig, originally written in Catalan, which confirms her as a talented writer and a key figure in literature and culture in the second half of the 20th century. In Ramona, goodbye, the story is told through the voices of three women, grandmother, mother and daughter, who, in addition to their family bond, share the name that gives the book its title. Through the lives of these women, Roig portrays for us the political struggles of the changing city of Barcelona in the period from the end of the 19th century to the 1960s.
