Rafa Nadal was born in 1986 in the Majorcan town of Manacor into a family of athletes. At only fifteen years old he became a professional, at nineteen he was ranked second in the world ranking of the Professional Tennis Association (ATP) and at twenty-two he became number one in the world. He has won twenty-two Grand Slams, fourteen of them at Roland Garros, two at Wimbledon, two at the Australian Open and four at the US Open. His self-confidence, his perseverance and never giving up any point are some of the keys to his success. He is considered one of the best tennis players in history.
