Radio y mujer (España, 1960-1975)
en las ondas de Radio Nacional
Pérez Martínez, José Emilio
The interrelation between two first-order factors in contemporary societies: broadcasting and female participation, would already occur in the first years of the radio medium's life, accelerating an irruption of women in the public space that has remained constant, if not progressive. . Despite its visible and undeniable character, the situation in Spain has remained little studied up to now, practically on the fringes of the historiographical account and, more if possible, of the history of the media. This book aims to help bring this reality out of oblivion through the study of Radio Nacional de España in a time of change and modernization (the 1960s and the next until Franco's death), revealing the concrete forms that that relationship took and investigating in its triple articulation: women as workers in the radio medium, representations of femininity projected through the airwaves and, finally, the role of Spanish women as audience.
