Qué solos se quedan los muertos
Gierdinelli, Mempo
José, an Argentine journalist exiled in Mexico, receives a phone call. Carmen, the woman he loved ten years ago, and perhaps he has never stopped loving since then, asks him for help from Zacatecas, and he rushes to it. They killed her husband, with three bullets, in the portal. Despite her death, José fantasizes about going back to her, who is no longer the one she remembers, but almost a stranger who regrets having called him. He soon realizes that they are both in danger, and decides not to run away, facing violence, because it is almost impossible to save yourself when you have been a loser all your life.
