Que hable Casandra

cuando las mujeres son narradoras la historia cambia

Lesser, Elizabeth

The author reviews stories, myths and stories from all eras, from the Bible to modern classics, to point out that they convey a negative image of women that has marked our culture for thousands of years. She then tells those stories from another point of view and empowers women to trust their instincts, find their voice and change the course of the world. To give her book its title, the author has chosen precisely the myth of Cassandra, because she believes that at some point in her life all women have felt like her. Cassandra was a princess from the city of Troy. To woo her, the god Apollo gave her the gift of seeing the future, but she refused him and he cursed her: "You will continue to see the future, Cassandra", he told her, "but now no one will listen to you, no one will believe your predictions". So no one believed Cassandra, who ended up going crazy knowing the truth about her and they always doubted her when she told it.
