Juan Antonio Hinojosa, local representative of the Falange in Figueres, appears brutally murdered in his bed one night in 1958. He is half naked and someone has driven a heavy crucifix into his skull and tied a belt around his neck. The flat is full like an egg of supplies of all kinds that contrast quite obscenely with the precariousness and grayness of the moment. The panorama advises the commissioner to wait for instructions from Madrid before deciding how to proceed with the case. And Madrid commands silence. Officially, Hinojosa has been called to the capital. Officially, it will have to be investigated as far as possible. Inspectors Carlos Iríbar, of the Criminal Investigation Brigade, and Rogelio Lopera, of the Political-Social, have different points of view. While the first tries to discover the identity of the murderer, the second is dedicated to sabotaging the investigation with barracks arrogance.
