Being destined to become someone else's supernatural power source isn't exactly a great thing, especially when Alexandria's "other half" seems to follow her around everywhere. Seth is in the training room, after his classes, and even in his room. And that's not nice. His connection has some benefits, such as keeping the nightmares of the tragic confrontation with her mother at bay, but it doesn't affect how Alex feels about Aiden, a forbidden pureblood. Or what he is willing to do (and sacrifice) for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenant and attack the students, the gods send the Furies, minor goddesses determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenant and the gods; and that includes Apollyon... and Alex. And if that -and the hordes of aether-sucking monsters- weren't enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if it means subjecting Alex to servitude... or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never be reversed.
