Pura lujuria

filosofía feminista elemental

Daly, Mary

"Pure Lust" is one of the major works of Mary Daly, a radical feminist thinker and one of the first Catholic theology PhDs to have taught at a theological school like Boston College. Author deeply critical of a patriarchal civilization characterized by violence and hatred of Nature, Mary Daly manifests in the very title of this work the link established between biophilia and "pure" lust in the sense of fecund and creative energy (ecofeminist aspect) opposed to the phallic conception of lust. Working on the etymology of words, creating terms that transform the perception of reality, dismantling inadequate symbols, recovering the memory of goddesses and mothers, and going beyond traditional gender assumptions, Daly searches for another possible future in the wilds of consciousness. Hence the importance of her metapatriarchal metaphor of the "witch": bewitching would evoke "inappropriate" laughter, let tears flow, provoke "gynesthetic" sensations and connections, inspire volcanic virtues, and encourage people to undertake the adventure of living.
