Pubis angelical
Puig, Manuel
Angelic Pubis tells the story of a woman from two completely different planes, corresponding to two areas of the protagonist's mind. In the field of real events, Ana is a sick woman in a clinic who, through her memories, goes through her love life in the political and social context of Argentina in the second half of the 20th century. At the same time, his unconscious fantasies unfold, an imaginary journey that takes the reader from the 1930s in Central Europe to the golden years of Hollywood and from there to the future, now in a climate close to science fiction, gathering elements of romance novels and of parapsychology. Two narrations that respond to the same reality: fundamentally they show women as oppressed and exploited beings.
