Psicología del embarazo

The psychology of pregnancy is an area under construction. Pregnancy, as a developmental crisis, offers an opportunity for growth and transformation. Based on the contributions of psychology and neurosciences, we intend to shine a light on this mobilizing stage. We give mothers a voice here to continue learning from them. We start from an ecosystem setting as a framework to explain the experience of mother and baby as a developing dyad. We propose an open and inclusive look and incorporate a gender perspective to offer support that respects and cares for the needs of each woman. Knowing the psychic processes of pregnancy serves to offer comprehensive care based on respect and scientific evidence. Knowing how to recognize what to expect in pregnancy on an emotional level makes it easier to prevent suffering and psychopathology in both the mother and the baby and in those who support them emotionally. With each baby a mother is born in her new identity. Holding and caring, a family is also born. We dedicate this work to all of them, written with the desire to inspire those who accompany, care for and protect such a delicate and mysterious stage.
