Preludios de mi lira y otros poemas

Manuel de Cabanyes has gone down in the history of Spanish literature for an anonymous, brief, unique work published for the first time the same year of his death: "Preludios de mi lira" (1833). The book presented a dozen poems that, since then, have received critical attention with marked regularity and have been, together with the handful of texts rescued for the publication of his "Selected Productions" in 1858, an interesting point of confluence or transition between the established values of Hispanic neoclassicism and an early romanticism with a strong Italian influence. This volume presents, in a critical edition, all of Cabanyes' surviving poetry.
