la vida després del capitalisme

Jackson, Tim

We have confused excess with progress. The dynamic of exponential growth and rampant consumption has led us to extreme degrees of social inequality, great financial instability and an unprecedented environmental crisis. There is life beyond capitalism and Tim Jackson, in this essay, proposes to reflect on its conditions of viability. Tomorrow's economy must be built around renewable technologies and energy, fair working conditions, transparent governance and the protection of social and environmental assets, rather than their systematic destruction, with companies serving the community and in harmony with nature. The end of growth is not the end of social progress. Postgrowth is an invitation to make a life and system change, in which our actions and the value of human interdependencies are more important than economic benefits and power.
