Por la sagrada causa nacional
historias de un tiempo oscuro : Badajoz, 1936-1939
Espinosa Maestre, Francisco
For the sacred national cause it shows us in detail the situation to which the province of Badajoz was reduced after the massacres practiced by the coup plotters from July to December 1936. And it does so through military judicial documentation that allows us to look at local events and issues that we would otherwise completely ignore. Peek with names and surnames through the military, Falangists, owners, local authorities, witnesses, simple neighbors and, above all, victims. All this through sixty representative files at the provincial level and generally instructed between 1937 and 1939. Small stories that fit into sections related to repression, internal conflicts between the living forces, the irrationality of the New Order, violence against women, the dark world of denunciations, the looting of the vanquished, the stories of the struggle for life and the conflicts that led to the consolidation of the war after the failure against Madrid in early November 1936. What Here it is counted from the local level allows us to see at the same time the level of degradation of life that was reached in just a few months and on what bases the Franco dictatorship was built.
