Poesía polaca del Modernismo

la Joven Polonia

Presa González, Fernando (ed.)

The three decades that elapsed between the 19th and 20th centuries, and specifically the years from 1890 to 1918, which delimit in Poland, respectively, the end of Positivism and the beginning of the Interwar period, correspond to a stage in the one where bohemia and dandies confronted bourgeois morality, social standardization and dependence on technology with an explosion of extraordinary creativity and originality, and which is commonly referred to as Young Poland. This anthology brings together some of the most famous poems by the four poets who most purely reflect and represent the different aesthetic trends and thematic nuclei of this period: Jan Kasprowicz (1860-1926), Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer (1865-1940) , Tadeusz Micinski (1873-1918) and Boleslaw Lesmian (1877-1937).
