Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas is, without a doubt, one of the great names of our letters in the entire history of literature, and not only Spanish, but worldwide. He reflected in his literary work the deep contradiction between the political man who vocationally wanted to be and the poet who knew how to write the most exalted poems of our Baroque. These two traits are also characteristic of his character, and from them a terrifying disappointment is born that will lead him to survive in his refuge of creation and to write to live and suffer.
