Piénsalo otra vez

Piénsalo otra vez

el poder de saber lo que no sabes

Grant, Adam

In our daily lives, we prefer the comfort of conviction to the discomfort of doubt and we prefer to listen to opinions that make us feel good to ideas that force us to reflect. We view disagreement as a personal threat, rather than an opportunity to learn, and we surround ourselves with people we agree with, when we should reach out to those who question our certainties. We think as preachers defending sacred beliefs or campaigning politicians seeking approval from others, but not as scientists seeking truth. This book is about the value of rethinking things. Many times, we consider intelligence to be the ability to think and learn. But in today's changing world there are more important cognitive skills: the ability to rethink and unlearn. Because intelligence is not the solution. And perhaps it is a curse: it is possible that those who are good at thinking are bad at rethinking; that the brighter we are, the more blind we are to our limitations.
