When a young woman is found brutally murdered in Norfolk County, all the townspeople blame a large, wild black dog rumored to stalk the area's lonely backroads. But there is a problem: the girl's injuries are not the work of an animal, but of a person. The gruesome case ends up in the hands of Detective Robert Kett, who also deals with his own ghosts after the disappearance of his wife under mysterious circumstances. When the police find the remains of a second brutally mangled body, Kett begins a hunt against time to catch a ruthless serial killer terrorizing the town...a killer who is also after him.
