Joan Estelrich (1896-1958) and Josep Pla (1897-1981) were classmates and colleagues in the profession (journalism and writing), two outstanding figures on the Catalan scene at the time of the Primo de Rivera dictatorship, the Republic and the Civil War, and both worked for the politician Francesc Cambó. The points of contact are many, and the hundred or so letters that have been preserved between one and the other is a good proof of this.
