The entire narrative of José Balza constitutes an exercise in unstoppable creative freedom, in which one act of writing leads to another. Characterized by rigor and compositional intelligence, "Percusión", published for the first time in 1982, became a classic of Venezuelan literature practically from the moment it was released, and not only because it represents one of the moments of greater brilliance in the work of its author, but because its originality and its execution (in it, the narrator takes us, unfolding, along a linguistic river that runs parallel to his very long journey from city to city) make this novel a true find literary.
