¡Pelayo!

In the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, I, Adosinda, am preparing to begin the chronicle of the events that occurred in this corner of Christendom between the unfortunate year 711, when Spania was lost, and 722, when my brother Pelayo, crowned king of the Goths, he won the battle that allowed him to start the reconquest of the territory ceded to Islam. My desire, when writing the birth of the new kingdom, has been to penetrate the heart of the events and relive them with the thoughts and passions of those who starred in them. Because no one denies that Pelayo and his men did more than win in Covadonga: together they sowed an idea, something that is worth as much as a new world, because ideas are stirred in the air without being imprisoned and fertilizing nations... This is the true story of how Pelayo and his brave Asturians began the most extraordinary of adventures: the Reconquest of Spain.
