Patria digna

For too many years we Spaniards have lived feeling like foreigners in our own home, in a cruel internal exile and without the feeling of having a country under our feet. Lately speaking of Spain, of the homeland or of the nation is associated with conservative, right-wing and retrograde ideas, but it was not always so. There was a time when shouting "Long live Spain!" it served to overthrow kings, expel imperial armies, draft one of the first liberal constitutions in history, and advance democratic rights. It is time to recover that decent and popular patriotism. Because true patriotism is not dressed in flags or practiced by hating those who are different. Patria Dignidad is an educational and accessible journey through the popular history of our country and an invitation to build, together, a progressive national pride that has been denied us for decades.
