The importance of teamwork, cooperation, and "building strong working relationships" to get things done is well known (and countless books and articles have been written on the subject). But there is another type of relationship that receives less attention. A type of relationship that is much stronger than some of the best-functioning teams and most productive working relationships, and that is essential to advancing any cause of value. That of the association (Partnership in English). But calling these magical unions "partnerships" does a disservice to these relationships. An "association or partnership" is a noun, a thing. Two people can be partners or in a partnership, but for a partnership to reap the true benefits of the dynamic, it must be active. It must be a verb. A daily practice. To enhance something bigger than ourselves, we must learn to partner.
