In the early 1990s, a young comic artist named Joe Sacco traveled to Palestine and decided to document his experiences there in the artistic form of comics. He walked the markets, interviewed the prisoners, talked to the protesters, had lunch with the farmers, visited the patients in the hospitals, and finally immersed himself in the life and culture of the citizens of Gaza and the West Bank.
